How long does SNI certification in Indonesia take, and can production start before it is issued?

SNI for coatings typically takes 3–6 months and requires a local importer of record, an API-PI import licence, an LS surveyor report and a registered local trademark (R mark). Certification must precede the first commercial shipment; we therefore start the trademark filing before any other document.

Q: What is the minimum order quantity for export?

One 20GP container per order, typically 18 tonnes or 3–4 SKUs. We do not mix more than four SKUs in a first container, because customs inspection and certificate matching become unreliable beyond that.

Q: Do you provide FORM E for ASEAN shipments?

Yes. Waterborne coatings under HS 3209 qualify for a 0% ACFTA rate with a FORM E certificate of origin, provided regional value content is at least 40%. We issue FORM E with every ASEAN shipment at no charge; RCEP would apply 7.5% on the same line, so we do not default to it.

Q: Do you offer private label and ODM production?

Yes. We fill under your brand in 20 kg pails or 200 kg drums, and supply TDS and SDS templates in your target language. ODM includes formula adjustment for local substrate and climate conditions.

The entity that signs your proforma invoice also runs the dispersion line, the lab and the QC bench. That is the only reason a batch complaint gets answered in days rather than weeks.

We formulate and produce in Wanjiang, Dongguan: interior and exterior wall coatings, wood lacquers, and the nano-TiO₂ dispersion that goes into them. ISO 9001 since 2010, with the certificate scope covering both the coatings and the nano material.

The 2010 invention patent, its Korean family member and the 2008 national standard were all filed under Dongguan Tomorrow Nano — the name this company traded under before it became Guangdong Modern Coatings. One legal entity, one credit code (914419007894766541). A supplier audit will ask which entity holds what; the answer should not need a phone call.

What is the minimum order quantity for export?

Do you provide FORM E for ASEAN shipments?

Yes. Waterborne coatings under HS 3209 enter ASEAN at 0 % with a FORM E certificate of origin, provided regional value content reaches 40 %. We issue FORM E with every ASEAN shipment at no charge. The same line under RCEP applies 7.5 %, so we do not default to it — the certificate is the margin.

Are waterborne coatings dangerous goods for sea freight?

Usually not. Where the closed-cup flash point exceeds 60 °C and the product contains no flammable or corrosive constituents, it moves as general cargo against a CNAS cargo transport condition report. Otherwise it ships as Class 3 UN1263 with full DG packing, a dangerous goods certificate and a maritime declaration. We confirm the classification before quoting any freight — it changes the rate more than the coating does.

Can you match an existing RAL, NCS or Pantone colour?

Yes. Send a physical master panel or a spectrophotometer reading. We match to ΔE ≤ 0.8 under D65 with 48-hour turnaround on the first trial, and three corrections at no charge. For translucent and open-pore effects, we match against a finished board, not a colour chip.

How long does SNI take, and can we ship before it is issued?

SNI for coatings runs 3–6 months and requires a local importer of record, an API-PI import licence, an LS surveyor report and a registered local trademark (R mark). Commercial shipment cannot precede certification — so the trademark filing is the first action, not the last. We start it before sampling for that reason.

Do you offer private label and ODM production?

Yes. Filling under your brand in 20 kg pails or 200 kg drums, with TDS and SDS templates in your target language. ODM adds formula adjustment for local substrate and climate — which for most of Southeast Asia means faster dry, higher film-build tolerance at high humidity, and an added film preservative for façades.
